A leading construction firm in Edmonton is seeking a Learning and Development Student for 4-8 months starting in May 2026. This role involves reviewing courses in the Learning Management System, updating resources, and participating in stakeholder meetings. As a student at PCL, you will have the opportunity for challenging work assignments in a supportive work environment that promotes personal and professional growth. We are seeking a Learning and Development Student for our North American Headquarters (Edmonton, AB) who is available for 4-8 months starting in May 2026.

Responsibilities
  • Reviewing and adding new courses into PCL’s Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Updating learning resources, including reference guides and videos
  • Running and creating training reports
  • Performing data clean-up to maintain accurate records
  • Working within the LMS to make learning options more accessible and user-friendly
  • Participating in stakeholder meetings to manage learning objects (courses) in the LMS and fostering a strong and collaborative approach across PCL
  • Assisting in documenting well-defined standards and processes that support PCL’s learning infrastructure
  • Helping to plan and execute system-related change management activities
  • Managing reports to support company metrics and KPIs
  • Researching best practices and industry trends and making recommendations for improvements
  • Applying principles of time management to track tasks and deadlines
  • Providing regular updates to your immediate supervisor
What you will bring to the role
  • Ability to think logically and analytically
  • Strong organizational skills, detail orientation, and ability to multitask and prioritize conflicting deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team to tackle problems
  • Ability to communicate with other team members and groups, constructively expressing ideas and concepts
  • Writing skills for training guides, online learning scripts, and proposals
  • Knowledge/skills in of some or all of the following is an asset:
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Learning Management Systems (LMS)
  • SharePoint and/or Egnyte (document storage and management)
  • Service Now (technical service tickets)
  • Visio Professional (process development)
  • PowerBI and/or Tableau (dashboards)
