Overview

The Opportunity — As a Lead Power Platform Reliability Engineer in our Manulife / John Hancock team, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our team\'s mission: Deliver the most capable, governed and compliant service. You will craft and refine enterprise-level applications leveraging the Power Platform, ensuring seamless integration with key systems such as Power BI, Dynamics, and Azure. You will engage directly with stakeholders and influencers monthly and lead the global CoE meetings. This role will influence the trajectory of our tools and services.

Locations: Montreal - QC or Waterloo - ON or Toronto - ON

Work arrangement: Hybrid (3 days from Office, 2 days from Home); Remote working option is not available.

Position Responsibilities
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Leads both Power BI and Power Platform Global CoE forums.
  • Design Development: Drives identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for a product, application, service, or platform.
  • Solution Construction: Builds end-to-end low code solutions using the Power Platform\'s out-of-the-box capabilities, following app building and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) best practices, with emphasis on Power Apps premium capabilities including Power Automate, Dataverse, Power Virtual Agents, Copilot, and AI Builder.
  • Expertise Utilization: Leverages subject-matter expertise of product features and partners with stakeholders (e.g., project managers) to drive a workgroup\'s project plans, release plans, and work items.
  • Team Mentorship: Mentors other team members on building Power Platform solutions.
  • Knowledge Advancement: Proactively seeks new knowledge and adapts to trends and solutions that improve availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products, while driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.
Qualifications
  • Required: 5+ years of demonstrated software development experience (full stack).
  • Required: 5+ years of experience in a financial institution or regulated industry.
  • Required: 5+ years of architecture and design thinking for distributed and data analytics solutions.
  • Hands-on experience in Power Platform development is highly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Power Automate Desktop, Power Virtual Agent, Power Pages, and AI Builder.
  • Experience building applications on Azure or any cloud platform.
  • Experience with web application development using .NET / C# / React / TypeScript.
  • Microsoft Dataverse / Dynamics 365 customization & integration.

Salary and Benefits

Referenced Salary Location: CAN, Ontario, Waterloo, 500 King Street North

Salary range: $110,530.00 CAD - $205,270.00 CAD. The actual salary will vary based on location, market conditions, and individual qualifications. Eligible employees may participate in incentive programs.
