Landscape Maintenance/Horticulturalist

Shuswap Lake Golf Course is looking for an outgoing and responsible individual that would like to be part of the turf maintenance team in a fast-paced environment. Working with the team will prove to be both enjoyable and rewarding.

Location: Blind Bay, British Columbia

Department: Maintenance

Reports To: Patricia Sloan, Golf Course Superintendent

Classification: Seasonal Full-Time

Salary: Based on experience

Summary

You will be responsible for leading the development and execution of our horticultural programs, focusing on plant growth and health across our property, as well as working on the golf course. This role requires a strong understanding of horticulture, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Design, install, and maintain high-quality gardens and landscapes.
  • Diagnose and treat plant diseases and pest infestations using integrated pest management (IPM) and appropriate controls.
  • Prune and maintain trees, shrubs, and other plants according to best practices.
  • Monitor and maintain landscape environments, including irrigation systems, to ensure proper functionality.
Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of plant identification
  • Spray license an asset, but not required
  • Must be able to work in all types of weather
  • Ability to lift 50lbs
