Duration: Regular Full Time

Salary: $33.26/hour (2024 Rates)

Schedule: 80 hours bi-weekly; Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

This position works in the Water – Operations, Maintenance & Construction organizational unit. This is manual work of some variety entailing physical effort and agility in the performance of semi‑skilled and unskilled construction and maintenance tasks in the Water Operations, Maintenance and Construction division. The incumbent performs related tasks in the installation, repair and servicing of water‑works systems; including but not limited to locating and repairing leaks, installation of taps from 19mm to 450mm, pipe installation, water system maintenance and construction work. Performs related work as required.

Qualifications include up to high school graduation, and experience in general construction and maintenance work; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Some knowledge of the safety equipment and practices methods, techniques, materials, tools and equipment used in water related construction and maintenance work; of the functions of the water distribution system. Ability to perform a variety of semi‑skilled manual tasks requiring the use of some independent judgement and action; to understand and effectively carry out oral and simple written instructions. Skill in the use of a variety of hand and power tools used in water maintenance and construction work. Sufficient physical strength, stamina and coordination to permit the performance of heavy manual outdoor work in all weather conditions. A valid Driver’s License for the Province of British Columbia is required.
