Job Summary
Working within the Quality Department, where work instructions will be provided with direct reporting to Quality Control Managers. The incumbent’s work is reviewed at several steps along the way for accuracy. The Quality Control Inspector – Junior is responsible for quality assurance or control in the assigned project area(s). The position ensures QA / QC requirements, including inspection and testing of in progress and completed systems and installations follow established parameters. The Quality Control Inspector performs inspection activities on construction activities against submitted quality control plans, maintains inspection and surveillance records including follow-up, and accepts or rejects work. The position typically has good working knowledge of NDE, materials, and welding requirements.

These CQ’s will be present in the work assignments provided to the Quality Control Inspector. Additional CQ’s may be provided as deemed necessary based on the performance of the Quality Control Inspection to master the ones specific for the position and classification level.

Authority Level
The Quality Control Inspector is identified as the authority on conformance to industry, project, and client requirements. Such authority allows the Quality Control Inspector to approve and / or reject work quality. In such cases where there is a dispute on the inspection ruling of the Quality Control Inspector, the QC Lead and / or the Quality Control Manager will provide the final ruling on the dispute.
Supervision Requirements
Dependent on the level of competency in the role, the Quality Control Inspector may fall into one of the two supervision levels for the type of supervision receiving :

Physical Requirements

The Quality Control Inspector will be measured against their assigned CQs for the position. Additionally, the quality of work, including its accuracy and the way the Quality Control Inspector represents themselves to others will also be measured.

Goals and objectives are assigned based on the Quality Control Inspector’s competency that they bring to the Quality Department at PROPAK. This is to ensure that the mentoring process is unique to the individual, thereby ensuring a more successful opportunity to meet the assigned goals and objectives.
All goals and objectives assigned are tracked and monitored to help ensure the Quality Control Inspector is meeting the position requirements. Additionally, the Quality Department can deploy the use of the Department SMART Goal document to help break down assigned goals and targets and monitor their progress.
