Overview

Our client is seeking a Director of Sales and Marketing to join their team.

Reporting to the President, the Director of Sales and Marketing will lead and manage the Sales and Marketing team. The candidate will be responsible for: (i) establishing and maintaining strategic relationships with key client executives and contacts; (ii) managing the members of the sales and marketing team; (iii) assisting team members in achieving their individual annual sales quotas; and (iv) ensuring the team meets its overall sales targets. The Director will also oversee account management of existing customers and support the sales team in selling products and services. This includes daily oversight of sales activities, providing guidance on company offerings, products, and pricing. The ideal candidate will create compelling value propositions through solution selling, possess strong negotiation and closing skills, and be capable of motivating the sales team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies aligned with company objectives, coordinating with Product Management, R&D, Professional Services, and Support teams.
  • Set sales targets and commission plans, ensuring achievement through coaching and performance management.
  • Maintain an accurate CRM pipeline with detailed forecasts to demonstrate sales progress toward targets.
  • Collaborate with the team to deliver tailored presentations highlighting product differentiators to win business.
  • Build strategic relationships with key decision-makers to gain trust and position products as solutions meeting customer needs.
  • Maintain and nurture existing client relationships by providing ongoing guidance and industry insights.
  • Manage existing customer accounts by identifying strategic objectives, concerns, and business drivers.
  • Identify new business opportunities and monitor market and industry trends.
  • Analyze competitors and develop strategies to maintain competitive advantage.
  • Review and improve sales processes to increase efficiency, including reporting and practices.
  • Stay updated on industry knowledge through workshops, publications, and networking.
  • Represent the organization at conferences, trade shows, and client engagements.
  • Complete required training and development within designated timelines.
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of progressive sales experience, with at least 4 years in leadership roles, preferably in software environments.
  • Proven success in managing sales teams in fast-paced, evolving settings.
