Position Overview

Have Gas Compression Experience? This posting is for you! We are looking for Gas Compression Technicians based in Alberta who want the opportunity to travel throughout Alberta and NWT, where you will work on and perform all repairs, troubleshooting, adjusting, overhauling, and maintaining mobile heavy‑duty Cat equipment used in construction, forestry, mining, oil and gas. Stationary positions also available.

Location: Calgary, Red Deer, Edmonton

Shift: 5x2, 7x7 and 14x14

Logistics: Tooled Company Truck provided

Job Description
  • Responsible for the maintenance and overhaul work in the natural gas compression and EPG industry in the field.
  • Trouble shooting equipment and perform equipment repairs, maintenance and overhauls on natural gas and diesel engines, compressors, generators and attachments.
  • Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes)
  • Interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team.
  • Work with the Service Supervisor and Lead Hand on various tasks as required.
Qualifications
  • Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) Certification
  • Journeyperson Certification in Mechanic, Electrician, Millwright and Automotive may also be considered
  • Gas Compression and Well Servicing experience
  • Power Systems experience, must be capable and confident troubleshooting mechanically governed fuel delivery systems
  • Valid driver's license with a successful recent driver abstract
  • Willingness to participate and complete additional training

  • A condition of employment may include the ability to obtain Customer Site access (Drug & Alcohol, fitness testing) and wear a respirator where applicable
  • Union Membership: You are required to become a member of the Union associated with this position. This will be effective immediately and will result in union dues being deducted from your pay. The terms and conditions of your employment will be governed by the collective agreement.
