About the role

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Surgeons and Anesthesiologists the duties and responsibilities of the Registered Veterinary Technician includes, but are not limited to, the following :

  • Performs evaluation of the patient’s condition by evaluation of the animal, reviewing patient history and diagnostic results
  • Monitoring of animals in the recovery period post anesthesia
  • Patient care- providing gold standard patient care post operatively and ensuring pain management is adequate
  • Bandage and wound care under the direction of supervising surgeons
  • Assist during patient examinations and surgical procedures
  • Diagnostic imaging-Performing CT scans and radiographs
  • Patient discharges and medication / physiotherapy demonstrations with owners
