Job Description

As the Assistant Laundry Manager you will support the Laundry Manager in overseeing the hotel’s laundry operations, ensuring exceptional standards for our guests.

Responsibilities
  • Consistently offer professional, engaging, and friendly service.
  • Follow departmental policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • Maintain the upkeep, cleanliness, and maintenance of all Laundry/Valet areas.
  • Train and supervise all employees within the Laundry/Valet department.
  • Work daily with employees to upgrade skills and decision making.
  • Monitor health and safety regulations, including WHIMS training.
  • Support hotel committees and ensure equipment is maintained and operational.
  • Handle general office administration: contracts, payroll, scheduling, ordering supplies and inventory control.
  • Conduct performance evaluations of Laundry/Valet staff.
  • Lead monthly communication meetings and follow up on action items.
  • Coordinate stocking and maintenance of food & beverage, housekeeping and linen closets.
  • Address guest requests promptly.
  • Assume operations in the absence of the Laundry Manager.
  • Adhere to hotel vehicle handling and safety policies when driving hotel or guest vehicles.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Previous supervisory experience required.
  • Experience in laundry operations is an asset.
  • Valid Alberta driver’s licence required; ability to drive a standard vehicle is an asset.
  • Ability to work flexible hours over a 24‑hour period.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and independent decision making.
  • Good physical condition, excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to thrive under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Team‑player qualities and minimum supervisory responsibilities.
  • Calm, courteous approach to guest needs at all times.
Additional Information

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel cannot assist with Canadian work authorization.
