Overview

As an Investment Data Ops Analyst, Investment Data Solutions, you will help build and establish a business-focused investment data management practice within Scotia Global Wealth Management (SGWM). You will be a key partner in data quality and exception management, and participate in the requirements, testing and implementation of key data quality controls within the Investment Data Hub (IDH) platform. You will work with business and technology partners across SGWM on new data acquisition, quality and exception management, and reporting initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Master Data Setup Support
    • Monitor the team mailbox to manage and prioritize incoming requests.
    • Execute security setups as requested by Portfolio Managers (PMs) and traders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
    • Deliver and maintain accurate, complete and timely investment data sets in the IDH by proactively identifying and correcting data quality issues and responding to data enquiries.
    • Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for new security setup functionalities and system enhancements.
  • Data Quality & Exception Management
    • Perform daily data quality checks and conduct pricing reconciliations to ensure the integrity of investment data.
    • Analyze invoices on security enrichment from sources and perform research on various financial instruments.
  • Process & Stakeholder Management
    • Collaborate directly with IT and other support teams to troubleshoot and resolve business partner inquiries and issues.
    • Document current operational workflows and communicate with the team to identify and implement process enhancements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree, with a technology or business focus, or equivalent education and experience
  • Previous experience with core investment data domains (e.g. positions, security reference, pricing and benchmarks) required
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of Markit EDM or other similar application is an asset
  • Bloomberg data familiarity is an asset
  • Experience with Charles River (CRIMS) is an asset
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a proven ability to resolve complex operational issues
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and business partners
  • Excellent organizational skills and a keen attention to detail
