Your Role:

We are currently seeking an Intermediate Structural Engineer for our Pickering, ON office. This posting is for an existing vacancy for which we are actively recruiting. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required by the position. Responsibilities:
  • Multitasking and the ability to perform design for large or small projects is an asset.
  • The ability to document and track project tasks and related design documents is required (strong organizational skills).
  • Liaise with other discipline leads, project managers, vendors, contractors and clients to facilitate smooth flow of information for use in preparing preliminary and detailed design and provide design clarifications and solutions during construction.
  • Must have strong computer‑oriented skills (familiarity with Autocad, MathCad, MS Office, Numerical Methods Solutions…etc.).
  • Proficiency in STAAD Pro Software for Structural Analysis.
  • Strong hand‑on expertise in the design of heavy industrial structures (steel, concrete, wood, masonry), preferably in the power generation industry, and Consulting Engineering experience is desirable.
  • Knowledge of power plant Station Structures and Components (SSCs) is an asset.
  • Preparation and/or verification of procurement activities and deliverables.
  • Review technical content of supplier/vendor bids and technical submissions.
  • Perform any required inspections as necessary for procurement of material.
  • Strong communication skills are required.
Qualifications:
  • University Degree in Structural Engineering or related discipline is preferred.
  • Seven (7) years of related engineering experience is considered an asset.
  • Registered or eligible to register with the PEO as a P.Eng.
  • Preferably has previous exposure to stations, structures, and components of Nuclear Power Plants.
  • Must be strong computer‑oriented skills (familiarity with AutoCad, MathCad, MS Office, Numerical Methods Solutions, etc.).
  • Experience within the utility or power industry is considered an asset.
  • Hands on expertise in structural design for concrete and steel structures and use of STAAD Pro Software for Structural Analysis.
  • Must be able to obtain a security clearance.
Additional Information

A requirement of working for Tetra Tech is that you are at least 18 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada. (A copy of a valid work permit may be required.)
