Position Summary
The Integrated Quality Coach provides leadership and support to whole system quality at Quinte Health inclusive of quality planning, quality improvement, and quality control. The Integrated Quality Coach supports inter-professional teams to improve quality through coaching, enhancing performance and efficiency with a focus on the patient, family, and staff experience. Reporting to the Manager of Integrated Quality, the incumbent is a recognized expert in whole system quality and person-centered care and will work with Quinte Health leaders to identify scope, design, support, execute and coach teams through the delivery of improvement initiatives that are aligned with Quinte Health’s strategy. They will provide organizational and local education, training, and support to senior leaders, staff, and physicians to ensure quality improvement knowledge and skill is developed, advanced and spread throughout the organization.

Qualifications
Required
- Undergraduate degree in nursing, healthcare administration, business, engineering or a related field required
- Masters degree preferred or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years experience in implementing and sustaining major quality improvement or change management initiatives within a service operations environment
- Extensive recent supervisory or coaching experience within the context of improvement
- Strong leadership abilities with proven track record of growing internal resources, mentorship and an eagerness to invest in others
- Demonstrated success in establishing, leading and sustaining positive change
- Advanced working knowledge of healthcare administration, hospital operations, whole system quality and person-centered care
- Strong knowledge of quality improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, PDCA, etc.)
- Ability to coach, develop and mentor staff in learning about whole system quality, including quality planning, quality improvement and quality control
- Demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships with stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex ideas and present data to a wide range of stakeholders including frontline staff, physicians, executives and board members
- Technical analytical skills, including strong data proficiency and ability to use data to drive problem solving and decision making
- Self-directed, autonomous and able to manage multiple competing, complex priorities
- Forward-thinking with the ability to innovate on small and large scales
Duties
- Support the identification of strategic quality priorities, goals and measures
- Accountable for monitoring and reporting on organizational quality indicators and activity
- Operationalize quality strategy at the unit, team and department level by chartering improvement projects to achieve quality goals
- Develop and implement quality improvement plans, methodologies and initiatives to enhance quality of care, patient safety and delivery of person-centered care
- Lead interdisciplinary teams to address quality-related issues, lead root cause analyses and implement evidence-based solutions
- Coach teams, units, departments and leadership through developing, implementing and sustaining quality-driven initiatives
- Consult and collaborate on quality-related inquiries, providing expertise and guidance on quality-related issues to staff and leadership
- Collaborate with leadership and staff to establish, monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and outcomes related to quality initiatives
- Provide expertise and guidance on quality improvement methodologies
- Collaborate with Accreditation Coordinator and Safety and Risk to provide guidance and support to teams on accreditation standards
- Facilitate training sessions, workshops and educational programs for healthcare professionals to promote a culture of quality improvement and person-centered care
- Develop and maintain educational framework and curriculum for quality improvement
- Serve as a liaison between different hospital departments, units and teams to ensure alignment and consistency in quality improvement efforts
- Promote a culture of continuous quality improvement and person-centered care
- Emphasize whole system quality leadership principles to empower individuals to contribute as part of a learning organization
- Follow industry trends, emerging practices, innovations and regulatory changes in healthcare quality management
- Other duties as assigned.
