Position Duration: December 2025 to August 2026

Location: Saint John

Salary Range: $2,454.00 to $3,776.00 bi-weekly based on the experience and level of post-secondary education.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Required qualifications for this opportunity include a high school diploma, or equivalency.
  • A valid Journeyperson Certificate of Qualification in Industrial Mechanic with a Red Seal Certificate.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with other relatable trades such as Machinist or Welder.
  • Preference may be given to candidates who have a minimum of three (3) years of related, recent work experience at the Journey person's level.

  • Highly flexible with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to navigate and build relationships effectively throughout the organization.
  • Working Knowledge of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.

  • Self‑motivated, service and results oriented.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities

Collaborating with and reporting to the Academic Chair of Industrial Mobile Equipment Repair and as a member of the faculty team, you are responsible for planning and preparing instructional materials and resources; establishing and managing a positive learning environment; instructing and evaluating students; building and sustaining professional relationships with students, colleagues, community partners, and stakeholders; as well as other related duties.

Specific instructional areas and courses within the program will include the full scope of this trade which may include but are not limited to:

  • Trade‑related math and physics
  • Welding, Rigging and Hoisting
  • Hydraulics
  • Blueprint reading
  • Mechanical equipment maintenance
  • Machine operations
  • Preventative and Predictive Maintenance

You must be willing and able to integrate technology and active student learning techniques into teaching practices.
