Job summary

A regional health authority in Prince Albert is seeking a part-time Addictions Counsellor to restore and enhance the recovery of clients in an inpatient setting. You will provide individual and group counseling, assess client needs, and implement care plans. A Chemical Dependency diploma and a valid Class 5 driver's license are required. This position offers the opportunity to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team in a supportive environment, helping clients achieve their recovery goals.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge in substance abuse and addictions, including cause and effect.
  • Knowledge in addictions screening, assessment tools and procedures.
  • Knowledge in trauma informed care/gender-responsive care/harm reduction model.
  • Knowledge in human behaviour, group dynamics and mental health needs of adults.
  • Knowledge in diverse cultures, values and traditions.
  • Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide informational programming as well as individual and group counseling sessions.
  • Assess individual/family and group needs to implement care plans.
  • Restore, maintain, and enhance the recovery of clients seeking services.
