In-home Caregiver – Private Home – MJI Family

• NOC Job Code/Title: 44101 - Family Caregiver

Terms of Employment: This job is for a full-time position (40 hours per week). Flexible / Split shift work schedule is required. Job is for evening work. Weekend work may be required. Language required is English.

Salary: Wage offered is $19.50 per hour. Job start date is as soon as possible.

Location: Private client lives in the city of Charlottetown, in Prince Edward Island. The home is situated in a residential neighbourhood.

Duties may include:

1. Help with the care of a woman with a physical disability.
2. Shop for food and household supplies.
3. Assist employer with her daily needs.
4. Drive employer to and from appointments.
5. Run errands for the employer.
6. Plan, prepare, cook and serve meals. Kitchen clean-up is also required.
7. General housework that will include doing laundry and some ironing.
8. Dusting rooms to ensure a clean environment.
9. Travel with employer is required; employer will pay for all travel expenses.

Qualifications:

1. Must have completed at minimum Canadian secondary school education.
2. Must have at least two years of work-related experience as a caregiver and domestic worker.
3. Must be dependable, honest, discreet, hardworking, independent, and able to manage the job without supervision.
4. Driver’s license required: If no current license available, must be willing to take driving lessons to obtain a Canada driver's license. Employer to pay for driving school fees and driving tests.
5. Must have CPR/Basic First Aid training; if not current, must be willing to take a course. Course to be paid for by the employer.
