Overview

Hybrid Local Driver & Warehouse Specialist – Imperial Dade Canada, Dartmouth, NS. Imperial Dade is a leading distributor of foodservice packaging, facilities maintenance supplies and equipment. The role is part of the ProTech division and involves both driving and warehouse responsibilities.

Hours: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

Driver Responsibilities

• Drive delivery equipment within surrounding areas and deliver product to customers in a safe, professional, on-time, and accurate manner.
• Load and unload stock securely for safe, damage-free transportation.
• Verify all orders at time of delivery; deliver orders to meet customer specifications.
• Ensure equipment and truck are in good working condition by following delivery maintenance procedures.
• Complete delivery registers and paperwork to ensure stock is accounted for.
• Be flexible with work hours and willing to work extended hours as required.

Warehouse Responsibilities

• Pick orders and load trucks; ensure stock is loaded safely, accurately, and efficiently.
• Report discrepancies to the Lead Hand and/or Warehouse Supervisor.
• Assist with daily warehouse housekeeping tasks.
• Perform Daily Circle Checks on material handling equipment before use and complete the Daily Circle Check Form.

Qualifications

• High school graduate and/or related experience.
• Class 5 Driver's License.
• Two years of professional local deliveries.
• Previous warehouse experience required.
• TDG/WHMIS knowledge is an asset.
• Ability to use power loading equipment.
• Good interpersonal and teamwork skills; good communication (read, write, speak English).
• Comfort with computer and phone use; ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail; dependable and reliable; good decision-making; ability to work independently.

Working / Other Conditions

• Able to handle weight up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
• Ability to work extended hours from time to time.
