Job summary

A local government authority in Central Ontario is seeking a Housing and Homelessness Administrative Student to assist with office administration, program preparation, and data reporting. Candidates should be enrolled in post-secondary education related to the role and possess strong communication skills. This position offers a rate of $18.48 per hour for a duration of approximately 4 months, starting on April 29, 2026. Qualifications

Job description
Position Description:
  • Assist in office administration, research and analysis as required for the Housing and Homelessness departments in the areas of: records management and retention, housing and homelessness policies and best practices.
  • Provide program preparation support and update forms and databases.
  • Monitoring and updating website materials.
  • Compile statistical information and analysis with respect to Housing and Homelessness data reporting.
  • Assist with updating records retention schedules, migration of records, scanning projects and organization of physical records.
  • Assist with mail services and assistance with internal courier distribution.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in post-secondary education in a related field (including but not limited to Data Analyst, Business Administration, Records Management, Social Services) at a College or University.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10 and Microsoft Windows 7.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel 2013, 2016.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe.
  • Experience with PowerPoint would be an asset.
  • Experience with File Hold would be an asset.
  • Must have Class G2 Driver’s License - as occasional travel may be required.
  • Attention to detail and strong communications skills.

Note:

Employment is conditional upon: attendance at all training sessions, submission of required documentation/certification, adherence to the minimum age requirements and ability to meet the employment term

At time of application must be enrolled in a post-secondary education institution or institution of higher learning.

Applicants must submit a criminal record check (dated within the last 3 months) from their local police service for approval prior to commencing employment
