This is a permanent, full-time role for an educator who is passionate about guiding students through personalized learning in a professional yet supportive setting.

About the Role

As a Home School Teacher, you will play an integral role in shaping students' educational journeys. Working directly with learners and families, you will deliver engaging lessons, adapt curriculum materials, and ensure that each student receives individualized support. Your ability to combine strong subject knowledge with patience, creativity, and structure will help students thrive both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and deliver lessons across core subjects (English, Math, Science, and Social Studies) with an emphasis on building strong foundational skills.
• Customize lesson plans to align with Alberta curriculum standards and adapt to students' unique learning styles.
• Evaluate student progress through assignments, tests, and one-on-one discussions.
• Provide constructive feedback and regular progress updates to families.
• Create a positive, encouraging, and structured learning environment.
• Incorporate creative teaching methods, technology, and real-world applications into lessons.
• Support students in developing critical thinking, problem-solving, and self-directed learning skills.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and progress.
• Collaborate with parents / guardians to ensure alignment of academic goals and overall student development.
• Promote lifelong learning and curiosity while upholding the values of Educated Path Homeschool.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (equivalent experience may be considered).
• Valid Alberta Teaching Certification (or in-progress certification preferred).
• Experience in teaching or tutoring, particularly in a homeschool or small group setting, is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of Alberta curriculum and a flexible approach to individualized learning.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
• Patience, empathy, and the ability to inspire confidence in students.
• Comfort with using technology and online platforms for teaching and record-keeping.
