Position: Healthcare Security Guard - Temporary Full-Time - 525 Montreal
Site: 525 Montreal Street
Overtime Method: Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours
Hours: Continental - 0700-1800, 1400-2000, 1500-2000
Payrate: $18.43/hour

End Date: January 2, 2026
Posting Date: September 22, 2025 (Internal)
Closing Date: September 30, 2025 (Internal) and October 30, 2025 (External)

Job Responsibilities

• Present a smart, visible, and alert security presence
• Greet, assist, and direct members of the public visiting the premises
• Ensure the safety & security of clients, buildings, and assets
• Work effectively, both independently and as part of a team
• Carry out all security duties as specified (including, but not limited to):
• Proactive/reactive interior & exterior patrols
• Response & assistance in emergency situations
• Documenting & reporting of any/all security events on shift
• Investigate routine incidents
• Patient watches
• Parking & smoking by-law enforcement
• Hospital policy awareness & enforcement
• Access control/key control
• Monthly safety inspections
• Additional duties as assigned

Job Requirements

• Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C Certificate (from a WSIB-approved provider)
• Ability to be clean shaven to pass an N95 Mask Fit Test
• Proof of COVID-19 Vaccine (minimum double vaccination)
• A copy of your immunization records (MMR, Varicella, Pertussis and TB Skin Tests - Step 1 & 2)

• KHSC Immunization Forms
• Completed immunization for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella and Pertussis are required at the time of hire. Applicants who are not immunized or are unable to provide MMR-V immunity at hire will not be eligible for the position.
• Ability to clear a Vulnerable Sector Check (during onboarding)
• Minimum 6 months healthcare security experience preferred
• Minimum 6 months of non-healthcare security experience preferred
• Must be able to commit to full-time availability for no less than 6 months
• English proficiency (oral & written) is required
• Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset
• 6+ months of customer service experience is considered an asset
• Must be able to provide certifications in Stay Safe
• Applicants lacking Stay Safe certifications can opt into Paladin\'s Stay Safe certification program prior to onboarding
• Stay Safe certification is not paid, but Paladin will cover costs with a 6-month commitment
• Legally Authorized to work in Canada
