Overview

Role and Responsibilities
  • Join the Theatre team at NVACH and work across multiple specialties within the perioperative environment to deliver safe and effective care to patients.
  • Assist with day-to-day tasks that maintain the smooth running of operating lists.
  • Adhere to national and local policies and protocols, and assist registered practitioners and medical practitioners with delivery of care.
  • Use medical equipment (including reporting broken items), and prepare equipment and sundries for operating lists.
  • Complete a competency programme for Health Care Support Workers (HCSWs) in the perioperative environment.
  • Support learners that are new to the role once you have acquired the necessary skills and experience.
  • Be employed by South Sector NHSGGC and work across multiple sites around Glasgow.
  • Training will be provided; experience is desirable but not necessary.
Specialties

The department covers General surgery, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmics, ENT, Urology, Gynaecology, Pain Service and Dental.

Remuneration, Hours and Location

The shift pattern for this post is Monday to Friday 0800-1730 x2, 0800-1800 x2. However this at any time may become 24/7 at needs of service. You will be working across multiple sites around Glasgow.
