Air Canada is presently looking for a dynamic individual to fill a permanent full‑time position as a Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Mechanic.

Required Skills & Responsibilities
  • Provide safe preventive and repair maintenance to a wide variety of equipment used within airport ground operations in accordance with all applicable regulations and codes.
  • Knowledge of drive trains, diesel and gasoline engines. Working knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems, metal fabrication and welding would be an asset.
  • Read and understand various schematic diagrams for maintenance troubleshooting and be proficient with computers and diagnostic tools.
  • Be a team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills and maintain a customer‑focused attitude in a demanding, high‑stress environment.

Qualifications
  • High School diploma.
  • Valid provincial license/endorsement as an Automotive Service Technician, Heavy Duty, or Truck and Coach, or Red Seal Program recognition.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in the trade.
  • Successfully pass the pre‑employment qualifying exam.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and dependability in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Meet Air Canada medical standards, including a medical evaluation, drug and alcohol testing, and be free of intoxicating substances.
  • Eligible to work in Canada and responsible for any required permits or visas.
  • Obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations.
Assets
  • Inter‑Provincial Red Seal preferred, but not required.
  • Advanced Fuel Injection & Diesel Engine Tune‑Up certificates/licenses.
  • Air Conditioning and Refrigeration certificates/licenses.
  • Propane Fuel Systems certificates/licenses.
  • Automotive Inspection certificates/licenses.
  • Previous experience maintaining mobile ground power, air conditioners (up to 110 ton), air start units (compressors up to 250 cfm), and farm or heavy‑industrial equipment.
  • Current security clearance.

Linguistic Requirements: Preference will be given to bilingual candidates.
