Sedgman Canada Ltd. is hiring ! We are currently seeking a Graduate Structural Engineer for our Vancouver, B.C. office . The selected candidate will support structural engineering projects by conducting structural design , investigation, managing project budgets and schedules, and preparing technical reports.

What does this role involve? Main Responsibilities:
  • Perform structural and concrete designs ensuring compliance with relevant codes, industry standards.
  • Participate in concept studies, including estimating quantities and preliminary designs.
  • Perform detailed concrete and steel design, including interaction with Drafters to produce models and documentation in line with QA Compliance.
  • Assist with construction enquiries, including safe lifting and erection.
  • Interface with other Engineering disciplines, including Electrical, Process and Mechanical.
  • Focus on technical innovation and continuous improvement.
What are we looking for in our future team member? Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in structural engineering.
  • With 0 – 3 years of experience in structural design.
  • Must be eligible to register with the EGBC or will have their P.Eng EGBC designation.
  • Good understanding of steel and concrete design for heavy industrial structures.
  • Previous mining or metals industry experience is highly desired.
  • Ability to safely and effectively self-manage time, priorities and activities.
  • Experience with Canadian building code across the provinces is desirable.
  • Good communication skills with well-developed written and oral skills.
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Must be available to travel to Client sites; may be seconded to work on projects, either temporarily relocated, or placed on a rotational roster.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship.

Salary Range: $64,000 - $72,000

The salary offered to the successful person for this position will consider education, experience, relevant skills and capability, geographic location and market conditions at the time of hire.
