GIS Application Specialist, Federal Sector Services Esri Canada has an opportunity for an Application Specialist to lead the delivery of GIS solutions based on Esri technology for large enterprise Federal customers. This role contributes to professional services by managing and delivering consulting projects and client services. Location: Ottawa.

Responsibilities
- Meet with customers to identify business objectives and problems that can be solved with a GIS solution.
- Design GIS solutions focused on off the shelf Esri technology.
- Install, configure and upgrade Esri technology including desktop, geodatabase, server, mobile and web applications.
- Assist with migration strategies for Esri version upgrades.
- Coordinate and validate technical responses and estimations for proposals.
- Provide feedback for process improvement.
- Act as a technical mentor and advisor to junior resources.
- Work with clients to assist during implementation of software.
- Provide database design expertise, application support and prototype development.
- Contribute to needs analysis, functional requirements definition and business solution needs as defined by customers.
- Provide demonstrations of Esri technology to prospective and existing customers.
- Proactively pursue self-instruction on relevant technical topics.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience designing GIS-based systems.
- Deployment and configuration of ArcGIS Enterprise including geodatabase management, web services integration, security, and web adaptor setup.
- Proven experience with ArcGIS Online content management and understanding of group and user management.
- Demonstrated skills in documenting system installation, configuration and maintenance.
- Knowledge of Python scripting.
- Working knowledge of relational databases.
- Experience analyzing and documenting user needs and requirements.
- University degree in computer science, engineering, math, GIS or equivalent education and experience.

- Experience configuring and deploying mobile and web applications based on Esri technology and templates.
- Esri certifications such as ArcGIS Enterprise Administration Associate/Professional and Enterprise Geodatabase Management Associate/Professional.
