Position Overview
The Quebec Program Manager plays a pivotal role in the regional delivery of THRIVE’s Quebec-based programming and initiatives, with a strong emphasis on cultivating innovation in the province’s agrifood and climate-tech sectors. Reporting directly to the Head of Canada Programs, this role will lead the execution of a high impact scaleup program in collaboration with Zone AgTech, as well as support THRIVE's broader mission through ecosystem activation, business development, and stakeholder engagement across Quebec.
Key Responsibilities
Program Execution & Management
- Facilitate the end-to-end implementation of THRIVE’s Quebec-based programming in collaboration with Zone AgTech and under the strategic direction of the Head of Canada Programs.
- Ensure timely delivery of program milestones, partner obligations, and KPIs.
- Manage communications and relationships with participating startups, mentors, partners, and program collaborators.
- Monitor and report on program outcomes, metrics, and impact in line with THRIVE’s reporting frameworks.
Regional Ecosystem Engagement
- Represent THRIVE Quebec at regional industry events, pitch competitions, conferences, climate innovation forums, etc.
- Identify partnership and business development opportunities aligned with THRIVE’s objectives and the partnership agreement with Zone AgTech, under the direction of the ecosystem partnerships leads.
- Proactively build and maintain relationships with Quebec-based innovators, entrepreneurs, accelerators / incubators, and research institutions.
Stakeholder & Partner Collaboration
- Serve as a liaison for Zone AgTech and other Quebec-based stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination and alignment with THRIVE Canada leadership.
- Support the Head of Canada Programs and Head of Ecosystem Partnerships in partner engagement, relationship management, and co-development of regional programming.
Strategic Contribution & Leadership
- Contribute to national strategy conversations with a strong understanding of Quebec’s innovation ecosystem, needs, and cultural context.
- Operate with a high degree of self-direction and ownership, while collaborating cross-functionally across the THRIVE teams.
- Represent THRIVE’s mission, values, and impact goals in all regional activities and communications.
Required Qualifications
- Fluency in French (spoken and written) is essential; bilingual in English / French
- 5+ years of professional experience in program management, ecosystem development, venture development, inovação, or stakeholder engagement, preferably in agrifood or climate tech.
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, environment, climate, sustainability, finance, business, economics, entrepreneurship, project management or related field required
- Strong track record of managing multi-stakeholder projects or partnerships.
- Familiarity with the startup ecosystem, accelerators, or venture investment landscape, with a demonstrated understanding of Quebec’s innovation ecosystem specifically, especially in agrifood, climate tech, sustainability, and / or entrepreneurship.
- Experience working with government agencies, research institutions, or industry clusters.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to work independently, lead projects, and collaborate across distributed teams.
- Passion for sustainability, food security, and climate-resilient innovation.
