Position: General Radiology and Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist (MRT)

Status: Part-Time

Department: Diagnostic Imaging

Union Association: OPSEU

SALARY: $36.84 to $50.25

Position Summary

Upholds the Mission, Vision and Values of Brockville General Hospital. Helps create a safe environment for staff, patients, families, physicians, and volunteers. The Technologist in General Radiology and Computed Tomography recognizes safety as a priority for Diagnostic Imaging Services, as each of us plays an integral part to building a culture of safety and continuous improvement. Reporting to the Manager, Diagnostic Imaging and Cardiovascular Services and under the supervision of the Charge Technologists, the General Radiology and Computed Tomography Technologist will be responsible for:

  1. Providing safe, quality care and services to our patients;
  2. Upholding all policies and procedures of the department and the organization;
  3. Maintaining the safe operation of equipment;
  4. Participating in quality and safety initiatives.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
  • Graduate of an accredited training program in Radiological Technology
  • Current registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO)
  • Knowledge of clinical CMRITO Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics
  • Must show evidence of clinical competence through continuing education
  • Current CPR Certification and maintained throughout employment
  • Successful completion of CAMRT’s CT Imaging 1, 2, 3 courses and ability to obtain certification (preferred)
  • Competent in venipuncture and contrast media injections (preferred)
  • Completion of cross sectional anatomy courses (preferred)
  • One (1) year experience performing CT’s (preferred)
  • One (1) year experience in General Radiology (preferred)
  • Applicants without prior CT experience must agree to 6 weeks CT training program and work towards the completion of CAMRT’s CT Imaging 1, 2, 3 courses and venipuncture and contrast media injections certification.
