GENERAL MANAGER

Compensation

$3500 monthly + commissions

Shifts Required

Full-Time 5 Days a week, 1 weekend day required Evening shifts required, must be available evenings until 8pm+

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the proper upkeep and over all facility operation
  • Assume responsibility to ensure all team members are meeting targets (sales, personal training, customer service representatives, etc.)
  • Meet and exceed team sales quota by monitoring sales KPIs, forecasting, fine-tuning sales processes, and ensuring consistency of sales metrics among the team
  • Inspire and grow your team through leading by examples and building a positive team spiritli>
  • Develop, implement and monitor team member succession planning to help develop team members
  • Provide exceptional leadership and manage and grow an effective sales team
  • Develop, build and acquire new corporate accounts to increase revenue for the club
  • Draft and submit sales and operation reports to upper management as required
  • Work closely with all functional teams (human resources, operations, personal training, marketing, finance, customer service, etc.) as a key contributor to the company’s overall success and profitability
  • Participate in events to generate new sales, such as trade shows, open houses, member appreciation nights, etc.)
  • Deliver financial results by creating a positive and supportive environment, setting standards in customer service and staff training and development
  • Able to self organize with a strong attention detail, work within budgets, have a responsibility for timelines and be able to think creatively to drive sales initiatives to the club
  • Recognize potential and create staff development plans for employees based on career aspirations and address poor performance; initiate and administer performance improvement action plans and/or corrective action as necessary
  • Delegate effectively by assigning and overseeing completion of all club responsibilities through the work of others
  • Generate sales through providing guests with tours of the facility, business to business outreach, referrals from members, and promoting the facility by distributing guest passes to prospective members
  • Resolve and elevate customer complaints in a professional, respectful manner;
  • Educate and empower your team to resolve customer concerns in the moment
  • Be active in the community by organizing events regularly, connecting with other local businesses to support healthy relationships and marketing opportunities
  • Monitors and adjusts schedules to maximize employee productivity, obtain payroll goals and cover key business hours/peak days
  • Assist with shift coverage as needed
  • Complete all new hire onboarding training to master base tasks and advanced leadership tasks and habits
Qualifications
  • Active in the UBC community / or Attended UBC with a already established personal pipeline is an asset
  • Strong leadership skills, with ability to motivate and influence people
  • College or University degree preferred, with minimum two (2) years professional experience
  • Experience in the health and wellness industry is preferred
  • Ability to multi-task and perform calmly in a fast paced environment
  • Strong administrative skills including payroll, scheduling, ordering inventory, and report generating
