POSITION: General Manager

JOB TYPE: Full Time

LOCATION: Grande Prairie, Alberta

SALARY/WAGE: Starting at $80,000 (commensurate with experience)

CLOSING DATE: December 12, 2025 or until suitable candidate is found

Job Summary

The Agency is assisting Nitehawk Year‑Round Adventure Park in the recruitment of a General Manager. This exciting leadership role oversees the strategic direction, operations, financial performance, team culture, and community engagement of one of the region’s popular recreation destinations.

The General Manager will lead an energetic team, drive sustainable growth, and ensure unforgettable experiences for guests from winter ski and snowboard season to year‑round outdoor adventures, events, and community programs.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee day‑to‑day and long‑term operations across all Nitehawk departments (Ski Hill and Tube Zone, Summer Biking, Bear Paw Golf and Campground and Nitehawk Rotary Campground)
  • Guide and motivate a large full‑time and seasonal team, building a positive, safety and guest‑focused culture
  • Collaborate with and report to the Board of Directors on strategic and operational priorities
  • Act as a visible, hands‑on leader during peak operational periods; support good governance, transparency, and accountability across the organization
  • Develop and oversee annual operating and capital budgets
  • Explore new revenue opportunities and support fundraising, grants and sponsorship efforts
  • Oversee financial processes, reporting, and resource allocation
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, legislation & industry best practices
  • Support departments in meeting performance goals and achieving exceptional guest satisfaction
  • Develop and execute annual operational, marketing, and strategic plans
  • Support long‑term planning and capital projects
  • Build and maintain strong community, tourism, and partner relationships
Requirements
  • Strong leadership experience managing large teams (50+ people)
  • Experience in non‑profit, tourism, recreation or municipal environments
  • Hands‑on understanding of ski hill or winter recreation operations
  • Strong financial and business planning experience
  • Demonstrated success with grant writing, fundraising, sponsorships, and event support
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence working with a Board
  • Comfortable working outdoors and being on‑site during busy seasons, weekends and holidays
  • Calm under pressure with strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities
  • Non‑profit leadership & Board reporting an asset
