Job summary

A health services provider in Manitoba is seeking an MRI technologist to work closely with interdisciplinary teams delivering patient-centered services. Position Overview

Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Experience
  • Previous related experience in MRI preferred.
  • Experience with Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and Picture Archiving Systems (PACS).
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • The incumbent will be a graduate of an approved MRI training program with successful completion of the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technology registration examinations (CAMRT).
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Successful completion of an accredited Medical Imaging Technology Program, eligible for registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (C.A.M.R.T.) and registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiology Technologists (C.A.M.R.T.) within three months of hire.
  • Current BCLS within the past 12 months or BCLS Instructor Certificate.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Microsoft Office programs preferred.
  • Demonstrated competency and perception in the manipulation and selection of MR images.
  • Excellent dexterity in the ability to operate all diagnostic instrumentation according to approved scopes of practice.
  • Follow oral and written instructions precisely with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills required in English.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a team member.
  • Demonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills with ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships in a multi-disciplinary team environment and with external agencies, groups and the public required.
  • Proficient analytical skills.
  • Work under pressure.
  • Maintains confidentiality with all information entrusted to the position.
  • Fluent language skills (written and oral) in both French and English may be required.
  • Ability to perform duties as described.
