Front End UI/UX Developer (CONTRACT)
Responsibilities
- Conduct research to learn about users, including exploratory and evaluative research to uncover user problems and test solutions. Learn about users’ needs and wants to inform designs on the ideal digital interactions.
- Propose design decisions and obtain approval with the project team support. Designs can be illustrated through artifacts such as interface design, wireframes, interactive mockups, and other documentation.
- Build designs and ensure quality of design. Collaborate with technical experts to ensure integration of front-end with back-end.
- Take ownership of other assigned tasks.
- Submit timesheets and track company time on a weekly basis.
- Adherence to established SOP and ensure all deliverables are compliant with company standards and practices.
- Participate in the design and development process following SDLC requirements and standards.
- Contribute ideas on improving development activities.
- Provide post-implementation support by analyzing system issues in a timely manner.
- Provide training and knowledge transfer on implemented technologies to company staff.
- Participate in project and team meetings, including with business leads and other areas of IT.
- Conduct research and usability testing to ensure designs meet requirements, optimize services and products for a range of customers, and develop mockups for the design and development teams.
- Build UI to implement approved designs.
- Ensure the quality of deliverables, including meeting requirements, scalability, and alignment with company standards and industry practices.
- Ensure design complies with brand requirements.
- Provide accurate work estimates to inform project timelines and ensure deliverables meet agreed timelines.
- Document current processes where appropriate and provide knowledge transfer to the team.
Required Skills
- Extensive experience using UX design best practices to design solutions.
- Practitioner of mobile-first and user-centered design.
- Experience applying user experience design fundamentals, such as typography rules and data visualization techniques.
- Able to identify UX design needs, develop and conceptualize UI/UX design strategies to address customer needs and achieve organizational goals.
- Experience producing high-quality UX designs using wireframes, flow diagrams, graphic and visual design, sitemaps, prototypes, and storyboards.
- Able to derive technical requirements from business requirements, translating them into style guides, design systems, design patterns and attractive user interfaces.
- Advanced skills in documentation, presentation to senior leadership, knowledge transfer and training to the team.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Able to collaborate with business leads and other IT teams.
- Preference for experience with C#/MVC/Razor.
- Experience developing and testing UI elements in a .NET environment.
