Scope of the Position

This position is responsible for the coordination and management of the administrative aspects of moving goods, ensuring that shipments are processed accurately and on time.

Major Responsibilities
  • Verify freight invoices against quotes and actual shipments
  • Resolve discrepancies with carriers and invoices
  • Become WISL expert at the CDC
  • Set up carriers as needed
  • Creation of commercial invoices
  • Ensure all relevant paperwork is applied to shipments
  • Arrange Paps with Carrier and Customs Broker
  • Resolve day-to-day issues with carriers
  • Obtain quotes for special shipments
  • Analyze freight costs, identify opportunities for cost reduction, and implement strategies to optimize shipping expenses
  • Provide weekly freight status reports to management
  • Proactively identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies within the CDC with freight
  • Assist DOO with branch freight analysis (courier choice, usage and spend, own truck/driver analysis, etc.)
Education & Training

  • High School diploma required
  • Post-secondary education, ideally in Transportation/Logistics, or Operations, is an asset
  • Excellent communication and organizational habits
  • Superior skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Enjoy working in a busy environment and be willing to take on more responsibilities
Experience

2-3 years of previous experience, preferably within the distribution industry.
