Position: 4th Class Power Engineer

Location: Vancouver, BC (On site)

Job type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $32.00 - $38.00 per hour

Starting date: Starts as soon as possible

Responsibilities
  • Follow all health and safety regulations.
  • Operate and maintain the boiler, refrigeration, plant equipment and processing systems.
  • Perform preventive and reactive maintenance; input work details into the computerized maintenance management system.
  • Contribute to the Maintenance Process: work identification, planning, scheduling, execution and follow-up.
  • Carry out unscheduled repairs of HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, lighting and electrical systems.
  • Collaborate with Production and the Maintenance team; maintain tools in safe working condition.
  • Adhere to SQF, OHS and GMP standards and practices; report deviations impacting food safety or process integrity.
  • Perform other duties or undertake projects as assigned.
Requirements
  • Required minimum 4th Class Power Engineer ticket
  • Additional tickets (e.g., Industrial electrician, Millwright, gas, welding) will be considered at hiring manager’s discretion
  • A valid BC driver’s license is an asset
  • Familiarity with reading mechanical drawings and equipment manuals
  • Willingness to work overtime when required
  • Ability to operate forklifts, boom-lifts, scissor lifts and other mobile equipment
Work Environment
  • Frequent ladder climbing and kneeling to repair machinery
  • Exposure to loud noises; required PPE
  • Flexible shifts and ability to work any day/shift
  • Heavy physical lifting up to 50 lbs
