Job summary

A community support organization in Kelowna is seeking a Kitchen Service & Delivery Worker. Job description

The Kitchen Service & Delivery Worker is responsible for packaging, serving, and heating food for clients; transporting food service goods, and managing inventory and ordering of food service-related goods (condiments, packaging, etc.). This person will execute their position in accordance with the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of JHSOK.

WHY WORK WITH US?

We are hiring for:

1 x PART-TIME position, 16 hours/week (no weekends)

1 x CASUAL position, no guaranteed hours per week

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Load and unload food service goods
  • Adhere to organizations vehicle policies
  • Set up workstations with needed kitchen service goods
  • Control portioning of food items to ensure assigned quantities are met
  • Ensure proper storage and temperatures of food is met
  • Provide outstanding service to clients
  • Manage and update food service supply inventory systems
  • Identify and resolve issues in inventory management and processes
SKILLS, TRAINING, & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Valid Food Safe and WHMIS certification, or willingness to obtain prior to commencing work
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and clean abstract
  • Must be able to clear a vulnerable sector Criminal Record Check
  • Physical ability to lift large trays of hot and cold food
  • Highschool Diploma
  • Intermediate computer skills with ability and willingness to learn new software programs
  • Ability to work independently, including identifying and completing needed tasks
  • Proficient communication skills and able to work as part of a team
  • Knowledge of, or willingness to learn about, food safety preparation, serving, storage, and clean up
  • General knowledge of inventory control
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time efficiently
