RBC Family Office Services is a team of over 250 financial planning, legal, estate, taxation, business owner and business succession planning specialists, as well as individuals in head office roles, who support Investment Advisors and RBC Canadian Banking. The team helps advisors and advisor teams deliver integrated wealth management expertise and planning to clients and their families.

What is the Opportunity?

The Financial Planning Consultant group is a team of professional financial planners responsible for coaching and direct support to RBC Dominion Securities advisors engaged in financial planning and client facing planning for target clients.

What will you do?
  • Accountable for providing direct support in a designated market for in-branch training on the myGPS software to advisors and their teams through one-on-one coaching and market presentations.
  • Engagement, support and delivery of client facing planning for target clients.
  • Accountable working with branch leadership to drive financial planning.
  • Develop strong internal networks with the software owners and training and practice management to enhance overall effectiveness of training.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to branch managers after any on site visit.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:
  • University degree supported by a professional designation (CFP/IQPF).
  • 5+ years of related experience in one or more of the following areas: financial planning, training and development.
  • Knowledge and technical proficiency related to myGPS or other financial planning software solutions.
  • Knowledge of Canadian taxation and pension legislation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Nice-to-have:
  • Brokerage industry experience.
  • CSC.

The expected base salary range for this position is $80,000 – $100,000 – depending on your experience, skills, and registration status, market conditions and business needs. You have the potential to earn considerably more through RBC's robust discretionary bonus program which gives you an opportunity to increase your total compensation, provided the business meets its performance targets and you meet your individual goals.
