Responsibilities
- Support the Company’s financial planning process and assist in the development and delivery of a timely and relevant financial plan aligned with the Company’s three-year strategic plan. Provide input for timely, proactive monthly forecasting and stress/sensitivity testing, specifically for the Company’s mortgage lending and ELV business.
- Support the financial planning, forecasting and strategic analysis process. Prepare materials related to financial information and analysis for senior management, Board of Directors, regulators, and the public. Safeguard highly confidential and sensitive financial information. Liaise with business units to understand strategic initiatives, translate them into financial analyses, and provide recommendations on complex and non-routine issues.
- Assist in the annual financial planning process, including delivering a 3-year financial plan for Board of Directors approval.
- Assist in the preparation and review of the 12-month rolling monthly forecast and quarterly in-depth forecast.
- Support the development of the monthly forecast for senior management and quarterly forecast to Board of Directors.
- Review and update models for scenario and sensitivity testing as required for EWST and OSFI’s MST program requirements.
- Gather and challenge line of business assumptions for models.
- Support the build, design and maintenance of financial planning tools, including processes to automate working papers using RPA, updating as required by management and new initiatives.
- Use financial tools to generate profitability analysis and metrics.
- Continuously assess and improve control activities related to assigned activities within finance; maintain process and control documentation; adhere to all control requirements.
- Assist in preparing quantitative and qualitative financial analysis to assess feasibility of opportunities and transactions, involving complex financial models, assumptions, business framework, risks and methodology.
- Assist in the preparation of business analysis and valuation functions as assigned.
What we require

- Great communication skills
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in business management, finance, or related field (university an asset)
- 3-5 years in financial planning/forecasting or 3-5 years financial services experience
- Strong organizational, time-management and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills
- Maintains a positive attitude and thrives in a deadline-driven environment
- Customer focus with a strong sense of urgency
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with PowerPoint
