Job description

We’re seeking a Financial Analyst to join our Financial Control team on a full-time, permanent basis. Based in our Perth CBD office, you’ll support a wide range of financial activities across the business, including reporting, analysis, budgeting, forecasting and cost control.

This role offers the chance to work with advanced financial systems, modern data analysis tools and a collaborative team, while developing your expertise within the mining industry.

About the Role

In this position, you will :

  • Support commercial tender cost evaluations and assist with contract discussions.
  • Monitor OPEX and CAPEX, undertake variance analysis and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Assist with monthly financial reporting for senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Contribute to budgeting processes and rolling forecasts for business departments.
  • Collect and consolidate financial and non-financial data from multiple systems.
  • Use SQL databases and data-tracking systems to support analysis and reporting.
  • Maintain and reconcile General Ledger and sub-ledger accounts.
  • Support month-end close activities, including journal uploads and system settlements.
  • Assist with financial reporting, audit documentation and CAPEX system maintenance.
  • Undertake additional ad-hoc tasks that add value to the team.
About You

To succeed in this role, you will have :

  • Previous experience in accounting or financial analysis, ideally in the mining or resources sector.
  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting and / or Finance.
  • CPA / CA qualifications (completed or in progress) highly regarded.
  • Strong proficiency in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office and financial software applications.
  • Experience working with SQL and large / complex datasets.
  • Critical thinking skills with the ability to analyse data, solve problems and develop practical solutions.
