At OFRA, we are dedicated to providing the highest quality of care for our residents and we are looking for a dynamic and driven Financial Analyst to join our team.
Reporting directly to the Manager of Finance, the Finance Analyst will be responsible for processing general ledger entries and related accounting reports and statements. In addition, the Finance Analyst will assist with Ministry of Health and Ministry of Long-Term Care reporting, prepare monthly bank reconciliations and other balance sheet accounts.
The ideal candidate will have a university degree in accounting, business or a related field. The candidate should have a minimum of three years of relevant experience, strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to deal tactfully with the public. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel) and accounting software (preferably Microsoft Dynamics GP) is a must, as well as knowledge of Accounting Standards for Not-for-Profit Organizations (ASNPO) budget principles, and financial controls. Other required skills include attention to detail, organization, problem-solving, project/time management, and report writing. The ability to communicate in Finnish is an asset.
The Accounting Analyst\'s primary responsibilities will include preparation and recording of monthly general ledger entries, assisting with Ministry of Health and Ministry of Long-Term Care reporting, modifying and entering payroll and benefit information from payroll system for entry into the general ledger (including monthly accrual entries), preparation of monthly bank reconciliations, reconciliation of other balance sheet accounts, maintain resident rent journals, complete annual income verifications and rent increases. The Accounting Analyst will also collaborate with accounts payable, and payroll clerks to ensure accuracy of entries and problem resolution. The Accounting Analyst will assist with preparing for the annual audit, including preparation of working papers and year-end entries.
