Overview

We are looking for a motivated Field Technician to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in geotechnical engineering and construction, who enjoys a mix of fieldwork, lab testing, and technical writing.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct site visits to support geotechnical investigations (soil sampling, test pits, borehole logging, and monitoring well installations).
  • Perform laboratory testing of soil and aggregate samples, including moisture content, Atterberg limits, grain size analysis, compaction, and other standard geotechnical tests.
  • Prepare clear and concise field notes and technical memos documenting findings.
  • Assist engineers with data collection, analysis, and report preparation.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely and in accordance with industry standards.
Qualifications
  • Diploma or degree in civil engineering technology, environmental sciences, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for memo and report preparation.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions and lifting moderate weights.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites.
  • Previous experience in geotechnical testing or construction is an asset but not required—training will be provided.

Pay: $65,000.00-$84,000.00 per year
