We are currently seeking a skilled and dependable Equipment Operator to join our Calgary-based operations team.

Position Summary

The Equipment Operator is responsible for safely operating compact construction equipment while supporting civil construction crews on active job sites. This role requires strong technical ability, attention to detail, and the discipline to complete safety documentation accurately and on time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate compact construction equipment such as skid steers, mini-excavators, plate compactors, and related tools
  • Support civil construction activities including trenching, backfilling, grading, and site preparation
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
  • Complete and submit safety paperwork accurately and on time, including:
  • FLHAs
  • Pre-use equipment inspections
  • Hazard assessments and site documentation
  • Follow all company, client, and regulatory safety requirements
  • Attend daily on-site meetings and safety tailgate meetings
  • Communicate effectively with forepersons, supervisors, and crew members
  • Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites
  • Assist with labour tasks as required
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License
  • Clean Driver's Abstract (required)
  • 1-3 years of equipment operating experience
  • Ability to operate compact equipment safely and efficiently
  • Strong understanding of construction site safety practices
  • Ability to complete safety paperwork thoroughly and on schedule
  • Reliable personal transportation to and from job sites, shop, or office
  • Local to Calgary and able to commute daily
  • Physically capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Available to work 5 days per week, with flexibility for additional hours as needed
Assets (Nice to Have)
  • Civil, utility, or telecom construction experience
  • Ground Disturbance, First Aid, H2S, or other safety certifications
  • Experience working around underground utilities
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
