A leading environmental consulting firm is seeking an Environmental Field Scientist in Kamloops, BC. The role involves supervising field programs, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring health and safety compliance. Candidates should have over 4 years of experience in environmental assessments and a degree in earth sciences. This position allows for a hybrid work model, emphasizing fieldwork and teamwork.
The Opportunity: Our dynamic team is growing, and we have a new opportunity for an Environmental Field Scientist with 4 plus years of experience to work in a multi-disciplinary team that solves complex issues for our clients throughout British Columbia. The position is with the Remediation Program Management (RPM) team, which has offices across Canada. This role will include planning, coordination, supervision of field programs and ground disturbance activities, and preparing reports following each program. Participate and be a member of a 14-person region-specific delivery team, while at the same time leveraging the experience and expertise of the entire 270-person RPM group. Apply your love for the outdoors and complete fieldwork assignments centered around the Central and Northern BC with opportunities to work in Alberta and Northwest Territories. Mentor junior staff in environmental practices including Phase 1 and 2 ESAs, drilling, surveying, groundwater sampling, oversight of remediation and reclamation, as well as on site-specific health and safety. Executing fieldwork occasionally in remote locations.
