What you can expect to do with us:
  • Prepare and implement site‑specific health and safety plans to reduce or eliminate hazards for yourself, WSP clients, colleagues, and the public.
  • Carry out field activities such as groundwater monitoring, in‑situ testing, soil sampling through trenches or drilling, and various environmental characterization tasks, as well as project preparation and follow‑up under the supervision of team leads.
  • Assist the lead technician in supervising work related to soil disturbance, locating utilities, conducting surveys and drilling, and installing groundwater observation wells.
  • Support the lead technician in monitoring environmental remediation activities, including managing excavations, overseeing excavated and transported soils, and drafting follow‑up reports.
  • Assist the project manager in preparing site work (orders, documentation, logistics).
  • Compile field data and write daily reports.
  • Perform any other related tasks to contribute to project success.
What you will bring to WSP:
  • Currently enrolled in a degree in an environment‑related field.
  • Strong teamwork skills, good organisational sense, and resourcefulness.
  • Willingness to learn, attention to detail, and thoroughness.
  • Knowledge of sampling techniques and soil, groundwater (micro‑purge), and surface water description.
  • A passion for outdoor work in various conditions and travel throughout the week (think far from a typical 9‑to‑5 office job!).
  • A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
