Overview
We are currently seeking an electronics technician for our client.

Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance in accordance with the approved maintenance plans;
- Calibrate all test equipment on a regular basis as per approved calibration plan;
- Restore systems by replacing faulty modules or components and repair faulty modules on-site when feasible;
- Make necessary arrangements to repair modules at the Supplier’s plant or at in-house repair facility or sub-contracted when repair is not possible on site;
- Record all maintenance and repair activities in the MIS (Maintenance Information System);
- Maintain records showing all preventive and corrective maintenance activities, including test results;
- Prepare and submit reports to the Regional Supervisor;
- Perform annual inventory checks of electronic security systems, their major components and major spare parts;
- Inspect and test items returning from repair facilities to ensure proper operation and that they meet all relevant quality parameters;
- Maintain clean working area;
- Comply with all local safety and security codes and regulations as per safety plans at the institution;
- Provide telephone support to other Technicians within and between Workstreams, as required;
- Must be available for on-call services after regular hours as per the on-call schedule; and
- Proactively research, and stay up to date with, newly installed systems to be able to maintain the equipment effectively.
- Complete the On Job Training (OJT) within twelve months of Resource’s start date.
- Bilingualism (English and French) is essential
Qualifications
Mandatory Requirements:
- A minimum of a college degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in one of the following fields:
- Industrial Technician
- Communication Technician
- Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology
- Electronic Engineering Technician
- Electrical Engineering Technology
- A minimum of 1 year of experience within the last 5 years maintaining at least 5 of the systems and/or sub-systems listed below (must include Type of Electronic Equipment and System Maintained, Manufacturer, and Model):
- Security Systems such as:
- Perimeter Intrusion Detection System (PIDS)
- Motion Detection System (MDS)
- Fence Disturbance System (FDS)
- PIDS Public Address System (PIDS PA)
- PIDS Closed Circuit Television (PIDS CCTV)
- Facility Alarm Annunciation System (FAAS)
- Personal Portable Alarm System (PPA)
- Personal Portable Alarm - Locatable System (PPAL)
- Fixed Point Alarms (FPA)
- Drone Detections
- Supplementary Intrusion Detection System (SIDS) CCTV
- General Closed Circuit Television (CCTV)
- Communications Systems such as:
- Radio System
- Telephone System
- Public Address System (PA)
- Intercom System
- Messaging System
- Operational Voice Logger
- Cell Call System
- Operational Systems such as:
- Guard Tour System
- Security Rounds System
- Door Control System
- Inmate Voice Intercept and Recording System
- Access Control Systems
- In & Out Systems
- Electronic Key Management System
- CATV System
- Free Standing Operational Security Tools such as:
- OC Gas Safes
- ION Scanners

Demonstrated experience working with commercial and personal computers and their peripherals.Demonstrated proficiency using the Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point).Bilingualism (English, French) is essentialThis role requires any candidates to currently hold or be eligible to obtain a Federal Government clearance at the enhanced reliability (level 1).Other Requirements
- The incumbent must be able to communicate his/her ideas clearly, and this requires good interpersonal skills in order to problem solve and interact at the client site effectively.
- Decisions require clear conceptual thinking of complex technical situations; advice must be sought if uncertainty exists.
- CompTIA A+ and Network+ an asset. (Must complete within 6 months from start date)
- Working at heights (Fall Arrest), First Aid, Confined Space and WHMIS certifications are considered assets.
