A leading engineering consulting firm seeks experienced Heat Trace Electrical Designers for on-site projects based in Edmonton and Calgary. The role involves preparing technical isometrics, schedules, and managing project documentation to ensure quality and compliance with specifications. Ideal candidates will possess a university degree in engineering and a strong background in heat tracing design, and will be motivated to contribute creatively to the team's success.
Position Overview:
Precision Human Capital is seeking 6 Heat Trace Electrical Designers for our growing Engineering Consulting client. Working with the Project Engineer in the Engineering Department, this position is primarily responsible for preparing heat tracing isometrics, panel board schedules, cable schedules, instrument schedules, writing diagrams, BMOs, and location plans, using AutoCAD. This will be a site based position with fly in and fly out from Edmonton and Calgary.
Responsibilities
Prepare heat tracing isometrics, panel board schedules, cable schedules, instrument schedules, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and location plans, using AutoCAD and MicroStation as required.
Responsible for designing heat tracing systems in accordance with customer specifications to successfully ensure customer satisfaction and profitability.
Responsible for the review of all project specifications and documentation necessary to develop a thorough understanding of the scope of work.
Responsible for following project requirements, along with expectations on quality, schedule or other restrictions of technical nature.
Responsible for following established process and procedure including Project Design guide, Project Execution Guide, Quality Plan and provide input where deficiencies occur.
Responsible for maintaining the Project Design folder structure.
Provides input in the development of Global and Regional tools and procedures as required.
Knowledge & Qualifications
University degree in Engineering is preferred.
2 Years minimum experience is required in doing EHT designs
Requirements and skills
Technically proficient/accomplished in heat tracing design, as well as has an appropriate technical knowledge of Piping & Insulation Systems, and P&Ds, governing Codes
Technically proficient in drafting drawings in Auto CAD
Generates new ideas, challenges the status quo, takes risks, support change, encourages innovation and solves problems creatively.
Communicates effectively both verbally and written, to team members, supervisor, and internal/external customers.
