Job summary
A manufacturer of safety equipment in Canada is seeking an assembler to work on electrical systems. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, have experience in electrical assembly, and a willingness to adhere to safety practices. The role requires the ability to work as part of a team and may involve cross-training in different job functions. Physical capability to perform the required tasks is essential.
Qualifications
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Experience with hand tools and assembly of electrical systems.
- Tig/Mig welding experience considered an asset.

Responsibilities
- Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills and excellent attendance.
- Must be able to use hand tools required to perform the job but not limited to: electrical components and wiring to build sub-assemblies for safety showers.
- Must be able to assemble electrical or electronic systems or support structures and install components, units, subassemblies, wiring or assembly casings.
- Must be able to pull and terminate wire and test electrical units.
- Must have a great attitude and willing to grow with the company.
- Must always diligently follow safe practices for yourself and team members.
- Must be able to work in a flexible team environment with job rotation as needed.
- Must be able to work overtime as needed.
- Must be able to read and interpret electrical schematics.
- Have ability to review work activities with supervisor and audit work orders/material pick lists.
- Inspect wiring installations, assemblies and circuits.
- Ability to fabricate or modify parts, using shop equipment (cut and thread pipe).
- Verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to blueprint/drawing specifications.
- Willingness to cross train for other job functions such as testing, quality review and packing/crating product.
- Tig/Mig welding experience considered an asset.
Working Conditions
- Able to lift and carry 50 lbs to waist and overhead with proper lifting techniques.
- Ability to use ladders at least 10 feet off the ground.
- Ability to bend, twist, squat, stand and walk up to 10 hours per day.
- Must be able to stand, kneel, bend, pull and push.
- Wear all required PPE including: steel toed shoes and safety glasses.
