Overview

We are seeking a compassionate caregiver to support a kind Italian senior gentleman with mild dementia in his Scarborough home. This is a part-time, live-out weekend role starting immediately.

Schedule: Coverage begins Saturday at 9:00 a.m. and continues through Monday at 9:00 a.m. Daytime hours involve active caregiving, while overnight hours are primarily for reassurance and on-call support. The caregiver leaves once the weekend shift ends.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with mobility, transfers, and light exercises to maintain mobility
• Providing mental stimulation and engaging activities to support cognition and mood
• Helping with medication administration and organization
• Supporting daily routines and structured schedules
• Assisting with personal hygiene and grooming
• Monitoring symptoms and reporting any changes to the family
• Fall prevention and ensuring a safe environment
• Meal preparation and assistance with cooking
• Light household duties, including laundry and tidying

Requirements

• PSW certificate and CPR certification
• Experience supporting seniors with dementia preferred
• Comfortable assisting with mobility, hygiene, transfers, and daily activities
