Position Overview

As a Document Control Specialist, you will support and assist the Kiewit Energy Canada district with the management of engineering documents in accordance with government and company regulations for various permanent design projects.


District Overview

Kiewit Energy Canada is headquartered in Calgary, Alberta. We are a major industrial contractor working on projects involving the construction of oil & gas facilities, including oilsands processing, steam-assisted gravity drainage, upgrading & refining, midstream facilities, power & co-generation, terminal projects (e.g., LNG, LPG), water treatment, and major mine developments. We also operate a Modular Yard facility in Edmonton, Alberta. Our engineering division offers innovative services across Canada, with design teams based in Calgary, Lenexa KS, and Houston TX, specializing in process, piping, mechanical, electrical, and civil/structural disciplines.


Location

The position is based in Calgary, Alberta.


Responsibilities
  • Support and assist in managing engineering documents according to regulations and procedures across various projects.
  • Process internal and external distribution of engineering documentation, including preparing transmittals.
  • Review and conduct quality checks of documents; configure, update, and maintain document management systems and permissions; update distribution matrices.
  • Address and resolve document control issues promptly.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, information management, IT, data management, or related fields preferred but not required.
  • At least 1 year of experience with advanced operational procedures and tools.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to use tools and systems to index, file, and control documents; remain flexible; multitask; work independently; collaborate effectively.
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam, Adobe Pro, or Smartsheet preferred.
  • Experience with EDMS like InEight Document, SharePoint, Aconex preferred.
  • Knowledge of construction and engineering terms is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Bluebeam Studio is an asset.
