About the Role

The Director will support the development of strategic communications, resources and tools that catalyze high-impact partnerships and key financing opportunities for community-centred climate action and innovation research-for-impact. This role is important for aligning CI communications to advance processes, initiatives, and strategies that advance world-leading climate action and innovation research-for-impact. The position is a one-year term with the possibility of renewal.

The ideal candidate will have a communications, fundraising and / or business development background, will understand and communicate the ways that climate risk and emissions need to be embedded across sectors, and be able to demonstrate success in securing funding for large-scale complex, transdisciplinary and / or cross-sector projects.

Qualifications

Master's Degree in a relevant discipline with ten years of directly related experience; climate change and sustainability research / practice, strategic communications, governmental relations, including senior level experience in administration, program operations, program development and assessment, innovative partnership and finance, program operations, communications and marketing, with an equivalent combination of education, training and practical experience.

  • Experience in strategic communications and / or fundraising - ability to effectively communicate with and understand the needs of corporate, philanthropic and government partners.
  • Excellent knowledge of climate change and sustainability research and / or practice.
  • Demonstrated leadership in team management and program / project design and delivery.
