Overview
We are seeking an experienced Director of Sales for our Staybridge Suites Aurora.
Responsibilities
- Acquire and maintain profitable accounts that contribute to the property's revenue forecasts.
- Solicit new business for the property through planned calls, mail outs, telephone solicitations, and sales calls to local trade and professional associations, corporations, travel agents, leisure and group market segments.
- To investigate and follow up on all sales leads maintaining an effective trace system in order to convert potential business, lapsed business and maximize on repeat business.
- To actively communicate the properties renovations to are corporations, associations, and travel agents encouraging them to attend a site visitation.
- Provide all Operational Departments up-to-date information about specific accounts as if relates to local negotiated rates.
- Develop, assist in the preparation of, and execute the Business Plan and Sales and Marketing Plan
- Participate in local tourism meetings.
- Attending public relations functions on behalf of the Holiday Inn Aurora.
- Providing the General Manager with monthly reports as required.
- Achieve the monthly and yearly quotas of the assigned market segments.
- Work with IHG on sales programs and the Online Systems.
- Assist in the creation, development and implementation of all hotel advertising.
- Ensure that the hotel sales and marketing plans are incorporated into daily sales activities.
- Responsible for setting up sales presentations and participating in tradeshows.
Job Requirements
- Previous sales experience of minimum 5 years in hospitality/hotel related field.
- Experience with IHG Brands a definite asset.
- Attention to detail a must.
- Superior Customer/Guest Service skills.
- Excellent and proven communication skills; oral and written.
- Individual must have strong organizational skills.
- Computer literate; experience with Office 365 PMS, and Sales Software.
- Ability to work with limited supervision.
