Chrono Aviation was founded in Quebec City in 2012. In its early days, the airline operated a Pilatus PC‑12 and employed two pilots. Chrono quickly attracted clients seeking a comfortable, efficient, and safe flying experience.
After a decade in business, Chrono Aviation has expanded its fleet to 12 aircraft and employs over 200 people. Chrono is a Quebec‑based airline offering planes that can accommodate between 9 and 189 passengers, exclusively for charter flights. With bases in Montreal and Quebec City, Chrono continues its expansion, reinforcing its position as a leader in the charter flight industry in Quebec and Canada.
Role and context
Reporting to the Vice President, the Director of Information Technology plays a key role in managing and supporting the organization’s technology services. This position blends tactical planning with the execution of IT initiatives to ensure operational continuity, system efficiency, and cybersecurity. The Director oversees hardware and software infrastructure, IT services, and system security to meet the company’s daily needs and support its growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage IT services to ensure effective technical support and uninterrupted operations.
- Oversee the maintenance, procurement, and updating of software applications and IT hardware, collaborating with relevant departments to ensure availability and reliability.
- Implement and monitor IT security and cybersecurity policies and protocols to protect systems and data.
- Plan and execute technology initiatives to improve internal processes and support business objectives.
- Work closely with internal teams to understand their technology needs and develop tailored solutions.
- Supervise the IT team, the Research & Development team, and the Content Creation & Social Media team, setting priorities and ensuring timely delivery.
- Evaluate and integrate new technologies internally and through collaboration with external partners, universities, and research organizations to foster innovation.
- Monitor IT system performance and recommend improvements to maximize infrastructure efficiency and reliability.
- Ensure rigorous management of IT assets, including licenses, service contracts, and inventories.
- Participate in IT budget management, ensuring effective cost control and optimal resource use.

Specific Job Requirements
- Degree in Information Technology, Systems Administration, or a related field.
- 5 to 8 years of experience in an IT management role, with expertise in systems administration and cybersecurity.
- Strong knowledge of software and hardware management environments, as well as cybersecurity best practices.
- Experience managing IT projects, including assessment, planning, and deployment of tech solutions.
- Familiarity with best practices in IT infrastructure and technical support within an environment using Azure Active Directory / Entra ID, Intune and Autopilot, Defender for Endpoint, M365 Apps, M365 Exchange Online, M365 SharePoint Online, Teams, and Azure IaaS.
- Strong team management and complex technical problem‑solving skills.
- Knowledge of IT asset management tools and technology maintenance protocols.
- Fluency in French is required. A strong command of English is also necessary to interact with English‑speaking clients in Canada and internationally.
