A global information services company based in Toronto is seeking a Director of Corporate Communications to shape and drive communications strategy across various business lines. The role requires over 15 years of experience in corporate communications particularly in technology. Responsibilities include managing media relations, developing corporate narratives, and working closely with executive leadership. Based in Toronto and reporting to the VP Product Communications and Corporate Affairs, the Director of Corporate Communications will actively drive corporate media relations, corporate reputation building, financial communications, and issues management for the company. The role requires the candidate to enjoy being ‘hands on’, with a high degree of autonomy, the ability to operate in uncertainty in a matrixed organization and largely without junior support. The role requires extremely good attention to detail.
The candidate will operate as a principal spokesperson on corporate, financial and crisis communications, engaging directly with the media on a regular basis, including managing relations with Reuters journalists who are free to report on Thomson Reuters without favor. This is a high-visibility, high-pressure role. The successful candidate will be a decisive, results-oriented leader who can develop and manage relationships across the company and with a wide variety of partners based on trust, teamwork and domain expertise.
The candidate must have the experience and enthusiasm for communications to think proactively, and work with communications peers, marketing, lines of business and other constituents. They will be expected to develop and execute integrated strategies that help realize our company’s purpose and drives responsible growth/revenue.
The position will offer access and exposure to many different departments across the company, and the successful candidate will have regular dealings with the company's executive leadership. The candidate should have superb relationship management capabilities with the aptitude to anticipate and solve complicated issues, while being able to present in a clear and compelling manner.

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations. For Ontario, Canada, the base compensation range for this role is $155,000 CAD - $205,000 CAD. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs. This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance.
