A municipal government is seeking a Director of Community Services to strategically manage the Recreation Division. The role involves overseeing program development, staff management, and budget efficiency. A Bachelor's degree and 10 years of relevant experience are required. Reporting to the Deputy City Manager - Community Services, the Director - Community Services is responsible for strategically planning, directing, and managing the activities, operations, and staff of the Recreation Division and other areas of the Community Services Department.
The successful applicant will be required to participate in all training programs applicable to this position and other related work. Bachelor's Degree in Recreation/Physical Education, Business Administration or related field. Coursework or background in public administration is considered an asset.
10 years’ experience of progressively responsible public recreation or community development related experience in a senior management role preferably with a municipal or provincial government is preferred. Experience in managing the operations of multipurpose sport, recreation and leisure facilities is also considered an asset.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Work in a typical office environment with travel to other city facilities for internal or external meetings. Travel within the City to other recreation and parks facilities for program and facility oversight. Some provincial or out of province travel to attend meetings and/or conferences.

9:00 AM to 4:30 PM
